SVQ Assessor - Work Based Engineering Qualifications, Mechanical and Electrical (2 posts) £22,577 pa (pro-rata)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, forward thinking and highly motivated individual to undertake assessing of work based learners undertaking Engineering SVQ qualifications.

The successful applicant will have the required background in either Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) to allow for the assessing of various learners at SVQ level 2-4 within the Highlands and Islands. Ideally, you will possess the Assessor Award and have previous assessing experience up to and including SVQ level 3. You will also have previous extensive experience working within the Engineering sector. If you are not in possession of the Assessor Awards you must commit to achieving the qualification and full training will be given.

You must be able to demonstrate highly developed communication skills in order work along with the current SVQ team members and communicate effectively with learners and internal quality assurers. You must possess IT skills appropriate to supporting learners at a distance. This is a parttime temporary position for one year. A commitment of around 378 hours/year will be required to undertake this role effectively. Flexible working arrangements, to meet the needs of the SVQ learners is essential and you will be required to travel to meet learners within their place of work.
