The role of Assistant Service Supervisor is based in our well-equipped workshop and you will be responsible for leading a talented team of technicians, these people are the life blood of what we do; keeping our clients machinery and equipment performing in peak condition.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant experience and qualifications. City and Guild, NVQ or SVQ qualifications in
Land Based Engineering
- At least 3 years plus experience as a technician and ideally management experience
- Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions
and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment
- Have the ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure
- Good interpersonal skills and a good understanding of the importance of excellent
customer service
- Good computer skills however training will be provided
- In this role as a Service Engineer, you need to have good customer service skills and
relevant experience and qualifications within the industry.
The role involves:
- Looking after and helping the engineers
- Technical questions, information and phone calls from the Engineers
- Workshop productivity
- Keeping the workshop tidy
- Make sure vans are kept tidy and in good order
- Enforcing health and safety rules
- Over see the apprentices
- Ordering and organising workshop sundries
- Maintain special tools
- Organising the emptying of skips and removal of waste oil and filters
- Raising sublets for the workshop
- Carry out monthly safety inspections
- Organising monthly inspection on stock machines
- Organising routine servicing
