Thales UK are looking to recruit within the Software team a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join as a DevOps Engineer. You will be a key member of the Software Development team based at the Thales site in Cheadle (Greater Manchester), and will have the opportunity to collaborate with Thales sites in the UK and overseas.

The Role:

Key responsibilities & Tasks:

You will work as part of a wider core of Software specialists, responsible for the configuration of software development tools and software delivery, providing solutions for full life cycle delivery using industry standard tools and methods. You will be joining a forward thinking and growing team with excellent prospects for further learning and development.

Duties will include but not be limited to the following:

Working with Software Engineering to develop software build and delivery, ideally in a continuous integration environment

Build our strategy by working with the software management function to ensure that skills, technology and ways of working are developed

Technical Skills

Thales is committed to hiring individuals with a “can do” and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and improve on skills and knowledge; the below are desirable however not essential to an application:
* Proficient knowledge setting up and administering software development tool
* Proficient knowledge of software delivery (ideally within a continuous integration environment)
* Proficient programming/scripting skills
* Experience of Software configuration control principles
* Experience of linux, shell scripts and software languages (e.g. Java, C++)
* Identity management and account authentication.
* Awareness of virtualisation technologies.
