Essential Requirements:
- 2 years’ experience within a healthcare setting, preferably with vulnerable adults
- Good organisational skills, and the ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good time management, and flexibility
- Clean full driving licence
- Candidates must have the right to work in the UK, and a Disclosure and Barring Service check will be conducted on the successful applicant.
Job description
A 62-year-old man with short term memory loss is looking for a personal health assistant to join the team that help him to manage his condition. Specifically, the suitable candidate would be responsible for organising GP, hospital, dental and optician appointments and supporting him to attend those appointments.
You should be a positive, caring and patient individual who is confident interacting with medical professionals. You would be the point of contact for test results and responsible for relating outcomes to him, his other personal assistants, and his family.
This position is specifically for the organisation and reminding of his medical regime and appointments and does not include providing help with intimate personal care or mobility. You would be required to attend any appointments that required the provision or receiving of information about his health.
This job entails working part time flexible hours in the region of 6-12 hours per month. It may suit a part-time, semi-retired or retired healthcare worker. Salary competitive and commensurate with experience.
